Indigenous Advocacy Comes in Many Forms

You may wish to be on the more pro-active side as an activist, or choosing to support Indigenous businesses, or by directing your philanthropic support to Indigenous causes. Or any combination, including all three.

You can take a trip into the realm of Indigenous advocacy by following the pages herein. They will increase your awareness of and accessibility to the many advocacy organizations and activies to support the First Nations.

It is important to know that all these forms of advocacy have been embraced by the Indigenous community itself. It is not sitting back and waiting for the non-indigenous community to provide support.

A personal note from this website creator:

My career was in fund development. In other words, philanthropy. The one thing I heard most frequently from donors and prospects for a cause were questions about what the organization's advocacy programs were doing. How many annual donors are there? What foundations have supported your cause? How many volunteers do you have?

If these are questions or concerns you have, please be comforted to know the Indigenous community is making a huge and successful effort around the country to build advocacy programs to assist the growth of the renaissance of the First Nations.
